The Different Fantasy Options!
Extensions
Extensions are by far the simplest when it comes to getting your fantasy color in the salon! When getting your fantasy color done, extensions are low-cost, and low maintenance and they look amazing! Once you get them installed and styled to look nice, you wear them for six weeks and then take them out! You avoid that nasty color damage and the monthly time commitment for color maintenance! You also do not have to worry about at-home color maintenance! They look amazing with a minimum amount of effort at a quite affordable price! Fantasy extensions are also super easy to remove! This helps avoid the hassle of growing out the color and highlights when you no longer want the fantasy color!
Highlights
The highlight method is a wonderful way to blend two colors and have them look amazing! It also helps you avoid the monstrous maintenance time and commitment of a full head of fantasy color. Highlighted fantasy color is also much less noticeable when it begins to fade! This is a wonderful way to get that extra wow factor that is highly customized to your frame and hairstyle, without needing to make a huge leap of faith. Fantasy highlights are the perfect way to add a fresh wow factor to your look without breaking the bank, while still getting a customized look!
Full Fantasy
The full fantasy is the Hail Mary, an epic statement for your fantasy hairstyle! This option is making your entire head of hair pop and make a statement! An all-over fantasy can be just a single color or the full spectrum color blast! This style is all over Instagram and Pinterest, for a very good reason! It looks amazing, but it does take a lot of time and maintenance! To get this fantasy style done takes a very large portion of the day to get done. All your hair needs to get bleached, toned, and then fully colored. Due to the huge amount of time to get this awesome look, it is quite a bit more expensive than the other options on this list. The full fantasy also requires a lot of at-home maintenance to prevent it from fading too fast and keep that vibrant color! The whole process also needs to be repeated every six to eight weeks! This fantasy style does require time and money to keep, but your hair will look breathtaking!
Wig
Fantasy wigs are by far the most underrated method to obtain your vibrant color! They look great, there is no damage to your hair, no huge commitment, and they last a crazy long time! Wigs also help you try and see what colors look good on you, without the possibility of picking the wrong color and being stuck with it! Fantasy wigs are amazing for special events like EDC or just whenever you want to have some fun with your hairstyle!
Maintenance Products
When it comes to products to help lock in that color and make it stay, we always recommend the Minu line from Davines! The Minu line consists of a shampoo, conditioner, and a serum all tailored to protect your color! If you also want to refresh those colors or enhance them, Anthony recommends Viral, watercolor, and Gem lights. They are color-depositing shampoos that work wonders if you have single or dual-color hair!
What Fantasy Style Works For You?
A very common limiting factor for what type of fantasy color you should get is workplace guidelines! Most workplaces allow a little fantasy color like the extensions or highlights, but not a full head of fantasy! One more thing to watch out for with a full fantasy is the everyday look! A full fantasy almost always requires full makeup and a stylized outfit to make it look good. Makeup is practically necessary to blend the hair into your full fantasy look! If constantly doing your makeup is a little beyond what you want to do, maybe go with a fantasy highlight or wig for when you want to add color!
All of these methods are wonderful ways to obtain your fantasy desires, you just need to find the right one for you! Do your research and work smarter, not harder! It is always a smart idea to talk your game plan over with your stylist so they can help guide you on your journey! After all, it would suck to have blue hair and then want to go yellow but end up with green! If you really want to get a wonderful fantasy look for yourself but don’t have a stylist for yourself yet, we would love to help you here at TouchUps! We also offer free consultations where you can come in and talk over a fantasy decision with a pro!
